I always start to feel like I’m getting old when the celebrities of my youth pass away. Captain Lou Albano passed away yesterday at 76. RIP. (July 29, 1933 – October 14, 2009)
Although he had been wrestling since the ’50s, it wasn’t until the ’80s that he (and wrestling in general) turned superstar. He’s defenitely one of those personalities I vividly remember watching WWF wrestling as a kid in the ’80s, along with the likes of Superfly Jimmy Snuka and (the original) Hulk Hogan. I never did quite understand the rubberband on the face thing though.
