Just a few hours across the state, from October 7th through the 13th, Design Philadelphia is taking place. There is something for everyone, no matter what creative field you’re in.
“Moving into its fifth year, Design Philadelphia is the largest national celebration of its kind. This city-wide cultural event spotlights all things design from architecture to interior design, fashion to product design, textile to graphic design. It’s a journey exploring exhibitions, workshops, studio tours, lectures, special events and product roll-outs that inspire, engage, excite and delight.”
Not sure if I can swing it out there this weekend, but I’d love to hit the opening reception for “Early Furniture by George Nakashima” hosted by Moderne Gallery .The historic exhibit of early works by legendary furniture craftsman, George Nakashima, includes rare and seldom-seen works drawn from private collections as well as loans from museums and the Nakashima family. Oh, and let’s not forget the whiskey tasting at Hudson Beach Glass. Lots to see and do!
