Even with the distraction of riot police, tear gas and rubber bullets flying around the city due to the G20, there was actually some time to stop and enjoy some art. Last night was the opening reception for the “Earthly Delights” exhibit from the Pittsburgh Center for the Arts’ Artist of the Year for 2009 Tim Kaulen. While three new outdoor works made for a great garden party atmosphere, inside the PCA were some of Tim’s earlier works as well as a very well put together retrospective of his career.
The new exhibition at the PCA is also paired with photographic work by the PCA’s 2009 Emerging Artist Dylan Vitone, and in the upstairs gallery, Symbolon: Symbols and Self, a group show presented by the Pittsburgh Print Group, as well as The Exchange, the second exhibit exchange between PF/PCA and Philadelphia’s Center for Emerging Visual Artists.
The show runs through November 8th at the Pittsburgh Center for the Arts.
